“Healthy Weight It’s A Family Affair” is a very well written and informational book by author Cindy Saleeby Goulding. She shares wonderful insights into why diets don’t work, how important good quality sleep is, being positive, having quiet times to reflect as well as a host of other wonderful helps. Each chapter is very short thus allowing the reader to stop and start as they wish, yet each one building on the other. There is the importance of family support and how weight issues are a part of everyone’s life within the family. Supporting each other with the issues they may be facing is vitally important for the individual who has the issue to overcome it and ways to help are included within this book. While the material is fantastic there are also explanations of exercising as well as pictures and exercises that everyone could do to help tone up. There is a journal for food as well as exercise for the reader to use to make this issue one they can overcome in bite size pieces. At the end of the book are healthy tips that helps the reader soak up what they have just read and a good way to go back and job their memory of some of the major issues found within the book. This book was provided by the author for my honest review.

I highly recommend this book to anyone who is working towards a healthier life style. The author gives beneficial yet realistic advice on how the whole family can join together to be healthier. Other diet books I have ready have seemed overwhelming, and not practical. However, the author of this book really demonstrates an understanding of the challenges families face. She instills hope that healthy change is possible, and provides excellent practical guidance on how to achieve this. This is a must read!

I love that this book approaches weight management from a total perspective – mind and body! Cindy Saleeby Goulding brings her unique and proven experience to provide practical information that “regular” families and individuals can use to improve their health, fitness and weight. The inspiring quotes, short managable chapter topics (great for fast reference!) and useful tips as well as the family friendly approach are wonderful! This book inspired me!

Excellent book. Well written. Easy read. Contemporary and relevant topics discussed by the author from own experiences as a coach and counselor (And a caring one at that). Short chapters. Covers a wide range of topics all co-related and centered around the family. A much needed book for today’s family. Makes a timely gift for newly weds and those starting a family.

Very simple. Easy to follow and implement! We hear some of the advice frequently but the way it was written allows you to look at the feedback in a different light with many ideas for solutions.

”Protecting Your Inner Peace: Staying Peaceful in Challenging Situations” is a must read. In today’s world one faces all kinds of challenges. One must be prepared to counter and resolve these challenges by peaceful means in order to avoid the cycle of more violence. The author, based on his vast experience in mastering and practicing marshal arts and dealing with real world cases in his line of work, has put into text a very practical format/manual to deal with these issues. This book, in my opinion, is worthy of being included in college courses for business, education as well as sociology and psychology majors. It would also be a valuable course for law enforcement trainees. By protecting your inner peace and hoping everyone else would do the same results in a peaceful society. Imagine that!
This book is well written, well researched, and very interesting as it takes a new slant on behavior and mental states of mind from a martial arts perspective, generally unlike most books on the shelf. Many good analogies have been used to explain and express the author’s perspective.The author has collected all this information from personal experiences he has gained over a long period of years which required using discipline to put his thoughts on paper so clearly. The illustrations make the message very clear for those requiring visual examples.In these days of what seems to be endless daily chaos everywhere, finding a different way to find, maintain and use different strategies to protect our inner peace is perhaps one of the best things we can do for ourselves, our families and all the people we come in contact with. Others are often so caught up in their own daily craziness they have no idea how they are affecting others with their out of control behavior.The author reminds us we each can maintain our own inner peace by reminding us we can and do have control over our personal space and gives us a variety of ways to maintain this peace and our personal space. By changing our thinking and our reactions with others, we can avoid being involved in others chaos and perhaps, even act as an example for others to follow.Enjoy reading and learning.
